Two-day Workshop on "Fundamentals of Steelmaking: Melting and Refining" at IIT Bombay

A two-day training was organized at MEMS, IIT Bombay on 27-28th January 2026 for the engineers and technicians working in the induction furnace steelmaking plants. These induction furnace steelmakers are members of All India Induction Furnaces Association (AIIFA) Sustainable Steel Manufactures Association. The two-day workshop led by Prof. Manish Pande was focused on several topics encompassing the basics of steelmaking, refining, energy consumption calculations, refractory lining and quality issues commonly encountered during induction furnace steelmaking.
